Computational Fluid Dynamic services from Eclipse focus on the simulation of gas, liquid and multiphase flow, heat and mass transfer and fluid to structure interaction.

CFD is proven technology for predicting detailed flow behavior such as velocity, pressure drops, temperature and turbulence.  It is especially useful when traditional calculations are unacceptable for determining the flow regime.

CFD Project Samples

  • Power Generation Industry.  CFD was used to design the flue gas ductwork for a Pulverized Coal-fired Power Plant.  Turning vanes were designed to keep the absorber inlet velocity profile within +/- 15% of the average velocity.  Pressure drops were minimized throughout the ductwork.
  • Process Industry.  CFD was used in design of combustion chamber duct.  We determined the amount of clean air to introduce into branch piping to keep fluid flowing evenly through the main duct after combustion.
